I started my pregnancy with DD weighing something around 135 (remember, I’m 6’0″). I got some lectures about sucky weight gain in the middle of my pregnancy, but I’d reached 160 (or close to it) by the end of it.
Here’s what my numbers look like this time around, based on my weigh-ins at doctor’s appointments:
I’m very self-conscious about my pregnancy weight gain because I weighed almost as much as I did when I was 9 months pregnant with DD before I even got pregnant this time. I wasn’t overweight by any means, but I was nowhere near my pre-DD weight.
Should I be putting on more? Yes. Am I distressed that I’m not? Not really. Though my substitute doctor wrote “poor weight gain in pregnancy” on my list of health problems at our appointment in May, neither he nor Dr. Sark has directly addressed the matter with me, either. So I’m none too bothered by it.
If I could stay in the 170s by the end of this pregnancy, I’d be pretty happy.
